SUCCASUNNA — Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Roxbury Township Police Chief Marc Palanchi announce that Elise Conroy, 26, Succasunna, has been charged with the Attempted Murder of her grandmother, L.E., 84, also of Succasunna.
During the early morning hours of Saturday, August 12, Conroy was charged by Warrant-Complaint with the first-degree crime of Attempted Murder related to an ongoing investigation into her attempt to poison her grandmother with use of liquid anti-freeze.
The charges were authorized by Municipal Court Judge Ira Cohen on August 12. Thereafter, Conroy was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings.
It is alleged that in late July, Conroy purchased liquid anti-freeze from a local store with the purpose of poisoning her grandmother, whom she resided with in Succasunna. Thereafter, it is alleged that Conroy poured the anti-freeze into juice and gave the juice to her grandmother.
Members of the Roxbury Township Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office – Criminal Investigation Section have contributed to this investigation.
