PARSIPPANY โ€” Luke Sudol, a member of the Seton Hall Prep Class of 2023, continues to define himself as a determined and resilient football student-athlete as he enters a new and exciting chapter in his collegiate career.

Sudol began his football journey at Seton Hall Preparatory School, where he was a two-year starter and competed on several highly successful teams. Known for his work ethic and versatility, Sudol developed into a dependable offensive weapon while also contributing on defense.

A wide receiver by primary position, Sudol also brings value as a safety, combining speed, field awareness, and football IQโ€”traits that allow him to impact the game on both sides of the ball.

Following high school, Sudol continued his football career at Ithaca College, where he spent the past three seasons. Entering this past year, Sudol was focused on taking the next step and becoming a primary playmaker within the offense. However, adversity struck.

โ€œInjuries haunted me all season,โ€ Sudol shared. โ€œI played on a grade three sprained ankle for pretty much the entire second half of the year.โ€

Despite pushing through the injury, post-season discussions left Sudol feeling his role would remain limited moving forward. While he valued the close friendships he built at Ithaca, he ultimately felt a change was necessary to reach his full potential.
Entering the transfer portal came with uncertainty, especially after a challenging season, but Sudol remained confident in himself and his body of work.

โ€œI trusted myself and trusted God,โ€ he said. โ€œWithin the first 15 minutes in the portal, I received an offer from Salisbury, a powerhouse program in Maryland. After that, things really started to ramp up.โ€

An unexpected connection soon led Sudol to his next destination. โ€œMy dad called me and said a coach had texted him, which I thought was strange,โ€ Sudol recalled. โ€œIt turned out to be Coach Segula, the offensive coordinator at St. John Fisher.โ€

After personally reaching out and quickly building rapport with the coaching staff, Sudol and his parents visited campus the following weekend. Extended conversations with Coach Raby and Coach Segula helped solidify his decision.

โ€œThat time really built trust for me,โ€ Sudol said. โ€œIt felt like the right place.โ€
Now enrolled at St. John Fisher University, Sudol has already begun settling in and is embracing the opportunity ahead.

โ€œIโ€™ve been here for two weeks now and itโ€™s been awesome,โ€ he said. โ€œIโ€™m extremely excited for what next season holdsโ€”not just for the team, but for myself as well.โ€

In addition to football, Sudol has been concentrating on legal studies during his college years, demonstrating a strong commitment to academics alongside athletics.

With perseverance, experience, and renewed opportunity, Luke Sudolโ€™s football journey is far from over. Parsippany Focus will be following closely as he looks to make an impact in his final collegiate season and beyond.
