HANOVER TOWNSHIP — Hanover Education Foundation’s Run for Health 5K and Walk was held on Saturday, June 8.
The weather was perfect for the event attended by over 500 runners and walkers.
Parsippany’s Wasay Noor, a junior at Parsippany Hills High School, came in Third Place with a time of 19:01.8, just under two minutes of the first place winner from Whippany Park High School.
This year’s First Place Male Winner is James Troiano, Senior at Whippany Park High School and the Female Winner is Rebecca Goffler, 25, from Whippany, representing Memorial Junior School.
Many awards were given out for the school with the largest team, which was Salem Drive School.
The top three male runners, ten and under, were Christopher Smith, Sawyer Smith and Victor Xavier. And the top three female runners, ten and under were Rebecca McClain, Lily Smith and Lilly Lopez-Tassan.
The Hanover Township Education Foundation’s mission is to enhance the high quality education of the Hanover Township K-12 public schools by funding innovative educational programs that foster excellence and have a lasting impact on students. Their efforts are achieved through fundraising, donations, and grant writing opportunities. They are a non-profit organization run by volunteers.
