PARSIPPANY — Parsippany IHOP their “First Annual Community Day” on Saturday, August 18 in the parking lot of Arlington Plaza Shopping Center.
The highlight of the day was the First Annual Pancake Eating Contest. The contest, Parsippany Rescue and Recovery and Parsippany-Troy Hills Volunteer Fire Department District 5 challenged each other on who could eat the most IHOP pancakes. Volunteer Fireman Taner Uygun won the contest for the fire department by eating ten pancakes within a three minute period. Each participant received a $25.00 IHOP Gift Certificate and Parsippany-Troy Hills Volunteer Fire Department District 5 received a $200.00 donation from IHOP owners Mo Abdelhadi and Sobhy Abdelhady.
Children had fun meeting their favorite cartoon characters Gekko and Owlette from the PJ Masks series. There was also a balloon artist and a face painter.
ShopRite of Parsippany gave away hot dogs and watermelon, and IHOP provide the ice cones and popcorn.
Children got to hold the fire hose and knock down traffic cones with members of Parsippany-Troy Hills Volunteer Fire Department District 5.
Parsippany Boy Scout Troop 72 was selling popcorn and Parsippany Rescue and Recovery Wives was selling their famous lemonade.
Children also had the opportunity to meeting members of the Parsippany Police Department, Parsippany Rescue and Recovery and Office of Emergency Management.
Parsippany IHOP is located at 792 Route 46 in the Arlington Shopping Plaza.
