PARSIPPANY โ Project Help, is a local 501(c)(3) charity whose mission it is to help veterans and their families in times of need will host an Open House โHeroes 4 Heroesโ on Thursday, March 8.ย The purpose of their event is to introduce Project Help to the community in an effort to expand their reach.
The event will be held at Allied Wealth Partners, 14 Walsh Drive beginning at 6:30 p.m.ย They very generously donate their community room to us quarterly to host our events.
Come early if you like, they will assign a job to you.ย Dinner will be available at no cost, including dessert and coffee.ย ย A door prize will be up for grabs and 50/50 will be held.ย There is absolutely no cost to attend, but RSVP is required and that can be done online by clicking here.
Sandy Mitchell and other board members will talk about the mission of Project Help and โHeroes 4 Heroesโ, what theyโve accomplished so far and their plans for 2018.ย โProject Help is a dynamic, young 501c3 charity with the welfare of our veterans as our only causeโ, said Sandy Mitchell, Founder and Executive Director.ย You will be given the firsthand look at the โHeroes 4 Heroesโ program with the ability to become a charter member if you so choose.
The purpose of the Open House in addition to community building and networking is to shed light on the issues suffered by veterans and their families.ย Project Help has been addressing these issues stemming from poverty, homelessness, disabilities in many forms including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury, joblessness, underemployment, trouble navigating the Veterans Administration, legal and a host of other issues from transition to end of life.
Many of their issues are financial and this year, Project Help is in a position to help financially to a limited degree.ย By year end, they hope to be fully funded.ย โEach time we take money out of the Project Help Hardship Fund for a veteran, we have to go out and raise that money againโ, said Mitchell.ย The money given is a grant and doesnโt have to be repaid.ย โKnowing what we now know, and realizing that this is just a patch, our focus in 2018 is in meaningful jobs and housing, solving those two things will solve most everything elseโ, she said.
