Dogs of War: Rock n’ Roll Ball set to raise money for wounded

MORRIS PLAINS — Music promoters Dan Glenn and Joe Gorgolione, along with radio station WDHA, and several of New Jersey’s top bands have joined to raise money for K9s For Warriors and Community Hope with this year’s Rock n’ Roll Ball.

Service dogs have long been an important part of recovery and rehabilitation for wounded veterans and K9s For Warriors is vital in providing men and women returning from war with these animals. “Wounded veterans sometimes need service animals that can alert on medical symptoms long before they become obvious to human beings…” said Dan Glenn, “these dogs are specifically trained and matched with veterans to aid in their recovery and acclimation to civilian life…” he added.

Community Hope is an outreach program providing housing and many other essential services to transitioning veterans.

“We’re trying to raise as much money as possible for these great causes and we have gotten an amazing amount of support from local businesses and radio station WDHA to make that happen,” said Glenn, “we have the best of New Jersey’s rock bands and expect a great turnout…” he continued.

The outdoor event is slated for Saturday, August 1 at VFW Post 3401, 45 Tabor Road, Morris Plains. Admission to the show is $20.00 (split between both charities) and will feature bands from 1:00 p.m. to to 9:00 p.m. as well as food and prizes. Entertainment will include Audio Empire, Till Now, Subcommittee, Bubba Grouch and Eli as well as other acts to be announced.

For further information on the event contact Dan Glenn at (908) 723-3118.

K9s For Warriors, founded in 2011 is a 501(c)3 organization founder by Shari Duval.

K9s For Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to our warriors suffering from Post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post 9/11. Our goal is to give a new leash on life to rescue dogs and military heroes, empowering warriors to return to civilian life with dignity and independence.
