Let Freedom Ring: Parsippany Celebrates America’s 240th Birthday

PARSIPPANY — The threat of rainy weather didn’t stop the locals from flocking to Parsippany Hills High School field for the annual Fourth of July fireworks festivities.

Families spread out on the lawn, armed with glow sticks and frisbees as they spent time together for America’s birthday. Among entertainment, a performance by the band The Trip began at 7:00 p.m. and played upbeat songs to get the crowd ready to celebrate.

Fireworks were moved up and began at 9:15 due to the inclement weather. Despite the rain, it was a great night!

Steve Fazio, Steve Bonino, Erik Johnson, Mike Lewis and new front man Seth Romano of The Trip – California Cover Rock Band, traveled from Laguna Beach, California to Parsippany for this special event. It was definitely a high energy, genuine rock concert that takes you on a fun-filled musical journey through the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s … as well as today’s MODERN AND TOP 40 rock hits.

From The Beatles to Bruno Mars, Journey to Pink Floyd, AC/DC to Led Zep, Maroon5 to The Eagles, they do it all! They are one of the most popular booked bands in California, have won multiple “Top Rock Cover Band” awards, and were voted best cover band by CBS. They have performed for some pretty famous clients.

At the main entrance, Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad was selling a hotdog, drink and snack for $1.00 each and Parsippany Rescue and Recovery wives were selling their famous lemonade. The Snowball Factory was selling snow cones, and all proceeds were donated to the Mount Tabor Fire Department.
