At her foster home, she gets to play with Oliver and she is very friendly with other dogs and children. She loves going on walks and being outdoors.
Sandy’s foster family says that she is a big kisser! She even licks Oliver’s ears! Sandy loves running and playing; she loves playing with her toy balls and squeeky toys. Sandy will cuddle with her foster family and fall asleep laying next to them. She is definately a people dog and good with children. Sandy sleeps through the night without having an accident and she is doing good with house training. Even though Sandy is enjoying her foster home, Sandy is eager to find a family of her own.

MORRIS COUNTY — The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office held a presentation, on October 20, for the Morris Area Clergy Council at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Morristown regarding the New Jersey Attorney General’s recently amended Use of Force Directive.
The meeting, initiated by Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp, resulted from recent developments concerning interaction between the police and the public. The main speaker at the event was Elie Honig, the Director of Criminal Justice for the State of New Jersey.
As a follow up to the presentation, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office is expanding its existing Community Outreach Program to include all members of the Morris County clergy. Last week approximately 175 clergy members received letters from Prosecutor Knapp regarding the Community Outreach Program.
According to Morris County Prosecutor Knapp, “As the lead law enforcement agency in Morris County, we deal directly with the Attorney General’s Office. Further, we have authority over all Morris County Police Departments. It is important for the clergy to understand the various functions that the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office performs. It is our hope the clergy will convey this understanding to their parishioners.”
The first meeting will be held in January. At that time the Office will address issues the clergy may have and begin to schedule programs on topics of concern. There will be several seminars each year with regard to the various topics of interest. Of course, one of these topics would be the Attorney General’s Amended Use of Force Directive. Other topics would include, but not be limited to, Prisoner Re-entry, Sexual Assault, Bias Crime, the Heroin and the Opiate Epidemic.
Prosecutor Knapp stated, “The clergy are in a unique position to aid in facilitating a dialogue between law enforcement and the general public. It is my sincere hope that the program helps in continuing to foster the positive relationship the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has with the community.”

PARSIPPANY — The Parsippany High School Drama Club will present “Exit the Body” a three-act comedy by acclaimed playwright artist Fred Carmichael.
The show opens on Thursday, November 19 and also will be playing on Friday and Saturday. All three performances begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Parsippany High School Auditorium.

PARSIPPANY — Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar® locations announced today its annual Breakfast with Santa fundraiser will take place on Saturday, December 5 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The fundraiser will support the efforts of the U.S. Marines Corps Toys for Tots program, currently in its 67th year, which distributes new toys to underprivileged children to brighten the holidays, unify local communities and deliver a message of hope.
Applebees is located at 1057 Route 46, in the Troy Hills Shopping Center.
Guests can enjoy breakfast compliments of Applebee’s along with goodies, raffle tickets for door prizes and the opportunity to take a photo with Santa Claus.
Tickets to Breakfast with Santa, which can be purchased by calling or visiting a local Applebee’s, are $10.00 each, and advanced reservations are required as seating is limited.
Children under the age of two are admitted free of charge. Applebee’s will raise additional funds by selling paper “gift packages” for $1.00 each, which will be displayed in the restaurants. 100% of the proceeds from the Breakfast with Santa events and “gift package” purchases will be donated directly to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program to be distributed to local families.

PARSIPPANY — Parsippany-Troy Hills Planning Board will be holding a special meeting on Monday, November 30 at 7:30 p.m. to permit a 151,000 square foot shopping center, including a Whole Foods Market on the last vacant lot in the Waterview Office Complex off of Route 46.
At the meeting the Planning Board will consider and vote on recommendations regarding proposed changes to the land use and zoning ordinances of the Township including Ordinance 2015:26 referred by the Governing Body pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:55D-26 “An Ordinance Amending And Supplementing Chapter 430, Zoning, Of The Revised General Ordinances Of The Township Of Parsippany-Troy Hills, Adding A New Article XLIX, Establishing A RC-Planned Retail/Commercial District And Designating Certain Zone Boundaries In The Township” and will conduct such other regular business and take such actions as permitted by law.

PARSIPPANY — The Parsippany Rescue and Recovery Unit has announced its elected positions for the 2016 year.
William Sanford, President, Jack Gianetti, Treasurer, Rafael Ortiz, Secretary, Jake Beg, Sergeant at Arms, Louis Yuliano, Chief.
In 1960 the unit was established in order to provide the Township with a tactical rescue team which includes vehicle extrications, diving, swift and ice water rescue. In addition to these services.
The squad had a confined space team and provides pump outs and board ups after fire or theft.
The operations aspect led by Chief Louis Yuliano, a Parsippany Hills Graduate, has a degree in Management and Decision Science from Monmouth University along with a masters from Centenary.
He plans to lead a group of 35 to success in the 2016 year.
Since he has joined Parsippany Rescue and Recovery in 2010 he had ranked as Lieutenant, Captain and Treasurer.
As Chief he plans to maintain the departments presence in the community and grow the organization by bettering the members in the way of training and education.
“Parsippany Rescue and Recovery is the unsung hero of the community providing behind the scenes services to assist the administration and fire districts to ensure the Township is converted no matter what the circumstances are, said Yuliano”

PARSIPPANY — When Atta Rehman, owner of Hiawatha Pharmacy decided to open his own business, there was no doubt in his mind that it would be in Parsippany.
Atta celebrated Hiawatha Pharmacy’s Fourth Anniversary in its current location, this past weekend.
Frank Cahill, Chairman Parsippany-Troy Hill Economic Development Advisory Committee congratulated Atta and presented him with a plaque honoring his milestone.
Atta opened his pharmacy in a store front on North Beverwyck Road in March 2010. He realized the business was struggling due to poor visibility and limited street parking on the busy section of North Beverwyck Road making potential customers not realize a local run pharmacy existed.

In November of 2011 Hiawatha Pharmacy shifted less than a mile, over to the Foodtown. Since the location change the business has shown steady improvement because of improved visibility, more foot traffic, better parking, a friendly atmosphere and an overall higher level of convenience for customers.
Atta moved to Parsippany from Queens in 1990 and graduated from Parsippany High School in 1993.
“Parsippany is home, there is no other place I would rather be.” Atta explained how much opportunity the township has given to him. “Parsippany has given me a great place to live, a great education and a place where my children can already call home”
Atta attended Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY where he achieved Doctor of Pharmacy while working part-time as a delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza in Parsippany.
Atta was very excited when he was hired for his first pharmacy job at Rite Aid in 1999, later becoming a pharmacy intern at Drug Fair. Several years later, he became a pharmacist with Drug Fair.
Recently customers voted Hiawatha Pharmacy the best Pharmacy in Morris County in a survey conducted by the Daily Record.
Atta emphasized that it is all about his customers and taking care of the residents of a town that gave him so much. Atta is tailored toward the people, their needs, medical and emotional and willing to do anything to bring a smile to his customers’ face. Atta takes the time to speak and more importantly listen to each and every customer and get to know them because “You never know what people are going through, whether it’s depression, financial strains, chemo treatment, or a sick child at home. An integral part of a pharmacist’s job is getting to know the customer story,” Atta explained.
When asked Atta who is your competition he said that Rite Aid, Walgreens, Shop Rite are the biggest competitors in the area because they have the ability to market and promote on a bigger scale. They have a big advantage in prescription insurance negotiation which takes away the opportunity from independent pharmacies. But even bigger, is the challenge to stay motivated as an entrepreneur, to continue staying focused when things aren’t going well. Atta says, “My customers help me with that!”
Atta’s biggest goal is to build his own brand and he set up a Customer Appreciation event to kick it off.
