The parking lot at the center’s new location, 2001 Route 46, was filled with fire trucks, police cars, construction vehicles and more for children to climb into and explore. Families also toured the new space and met the team that will serve children in Parsippany.

The event was free, sensory-friendly, and designed specifically for children with autism ages two to nine, though all were welcome to attend. In addition to the vehicles on display, the event included activities and games for all ability levels, snacks, and a quiet sensory-friendly comfort zone available throughout the morning for children who needed a break.

Bierman Autism Centers specializes in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy, along with speech therapy, occupational therapy, autism diagnostic assessments and early intervention programs for children generally between the ages of 18 months and 9 years old. The organization says it approaches every child’s Autism diagnosis as unique, using a โ€œteach through playโ€ method in natural settings and data-based decisions to track each child’s progress, with individualized treatment plans that most families complete in about two years.

Now marking its 20th anniversary, Bierman operates centers across seven states โ€” Arizona, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio and Rhode Island. In New Jersey, the company has locations in Berkeley Heights, Cranford, Eatontown, Moorestown, Parsippany, Piscataway, Princeton, Ramsey, Roseland and West Orange. Bierman works with major insurance providers and bills directly to insurance, with many families paying minimal out-of-pocket costs.
