Dear Editor:
On November 6, 2024, the day after the Presidential election, I began flying the flag upside down to denote what I thought would be the beginning of dire distress for the country. Judging by the results of our most recent election, it appears I was not the only person that felt that way. So on November 4, I was pleased that I could once again fly my flag right side up in anticipation of the United States awakening from the two-year nightmare we have suffered through at the hands of President Trump. He and his cohorts ignored the Constitution with the blessing of the Republican House, Republican Senate and in many cases the Supreme Court.

To all of my fellow voters that came out to vote in record numbers to take our country back from the grasp of President Trump, I say we all did a great job, and we should be proud that we did not permit the most wealthy among us to do more harm to our nation.
People that have more wealth than they could possibly spend in a thousand lifetimes had their dirty little hands out trying to enrich themselves further, while the everyday person and the country were sinking deeper in debt. There is no explanation for such greed, the likes of which we have not seen for scores of years.
Now the new Democratic House and Senate members must work on undoing all the harm that Trump and his group of the most wealthy have sucked out of the country. No area too pristine, no group too downtrodden, no moral center too obvious for Trump and his friends not to plunder in search of more cash for their endless need to enrich themselves.
It is time for the United States to return to the country we were. A country where we care about our relationships with other nations that were once our allies and distance ourselves from the world powers that seek to do us harm. Why the Trump administration has chosen to befriend nations that history will view as aggressors and dictatorships will be traced back to the search for more wealth for the ultra wealthy.
I am proud to be flying my flag right side up once again!
