PARSIPPANY — Parsippany High School’s boys soccer team secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Boonton on Friday, October 16, with captain Christian Castaño scoring the opening goal and delivering the game-winning assist to earn Man of the Match honors.
The Redhawks struck first when Sairam “Sai” Balaji set up Christian, who finished the opportunity to give Parsippany an early advantage.
Jude Berry added Parsippany’s second goal with an unassisted effort, further strengthening the Redhawks’ attack.
With the game still closely contested, Christian stepped up again, delivering an impressive trivela pass — a pass struck with the outside of the foot — to set up Sai for Parsippany’s third and eventual game-winning goal.
Christian’s performance proved decisive, as he contributed directly to two of Parsippany’s three goals. His opening goal and game-winning assist earned him Man of the Match honors.

Sai also played an important role in the victory, contributing a goal and an assist, while Jude’s unassisted goal completed the scoring for the Redhawks.
The victory came just two days after Parsippany battled crosstown rival Parsippany Hills to a scoreless draw in the Mayor’s Cup on Wednesday, October 14.
The 3-2 result gave the Redhawks another victory as they continued their 2026 campaign.
