PARSIPPANY — Parsippany High School put together its most competitive performance against Boonton in four years Friday night, falling to the Bombers, 32-16, on October 16 at Boonton High School.
Quarterback Mason Alameda once again helped lead Parsippany’s offense, rushing seven times for a career-high 76 yards and a touchdown. Alameda has now scored four rushing touchdowns this season.
Kah’mori Cotto also found the end zone for Parsippany and was one of the Redhawks’ biggest offensive contributors. Cotto carried the ball 12 times for a team-high 79 yards as Parsippany found success moving the ball on the ground.
Overall, the Redhawks finished with 227 rushing yards on 32 carries. Chris Kelly added 25 yards on one carry, while Jaylen Taylor rushed eight times for 30 yards.
The performance came against a Boonton team that entered the matchup as one of the stronger teams on Parsippany’s schedule. The Bombers improved to 7-1 with the victory and have now won seven consecutive meetings against the Redhawks. Parsippany’s last victory over Boonton came in 2019, when the Redhawks won 28-18 during a 10-win season.
While Friday’s result added another loss to the series, it continued to show the progress of a Parsippany program that has already taken a significant step forward this season.
The Redhawks finished 1-9 in 2025 but have already quadrupled that win total this fall. Following the Boonton game, Parsippany sits at 4-4 with victories over Sussex County Tech, North Warren Regional, Palisades Park/Leonia, and Hopatcong.
Parsippany will have another opportunity to get above .500 when it travels to Indian Hills on Friday, October 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
