PARSIPPANY — On Saturday, April 26, at 8:00 a.m., Parsippany will once again become a hub of hope and determination as the New Jersey Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) hosts the annual PurpleStride New Jersey event at GAF Headquarters.

Residents from across the state are invited to take part in the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, joining thousands nationwide in a powerful show of solidarity. PurpleStride New Jersey is one of nearly 60 walks happening simultaneously across the country as part of a significant national effort to raise awareness and critical funding for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.

The New Jersey event has set an ambitious fundraising goal of $530,000, contributing to PanCAN’s national goal of $17 million. All proceeds will support PanCAN’s free, personalized patient services, research initiatives, and early detection efforts, which aim to increase survival rates for one of the deadliest forms of cancer.

We can make a difference in the lives of pancreatic cancer patients nationally by taking action locally when we come together on April 26,” said Debbie Schupper, volunteer Affiliate Chair of PanCAN’s New Jersey Affiliate.

Pancreatic cancer remains the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, with a five-year survival rate of just 13 percent. Recent losses of beloved public figures such as Alex Trebek, Willie Garson, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and John Lewis have brought national attention to the urgent need for more research and advocacy.

PARSIPPANY — The Morris County Clerk’s Office has released the official timeline for the upcoming 2025 Primary Election, and residents are urged to prepare early to ensure their voices are heard.

The deadline to change party affiliation is set for Wednesday, April 16, for those who wish to vote in a different party’s primary.

The mailing of mail-in ballots will begin on Saturday, April 19, allowing voters to participate conveniently from home.

To be eligible to vote, residents must register by the voter registration deadline on Tuesday, May 20.

Early voting will be available from Tuesday, June 3, through Sunday, June 8, giving voters ample opportunity to cast their ballots ahead of time.

The official Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 10, with polls open across Morris County.

Morris County Clerk Ann F. Grossi, Esq. encourages voters to verify their registration status, review sample ballots, and find polling locations by visiting morriscountyclerk.org.

Important decisions affecting local, county, and state representation are at stake, making participation in the primary election critical for all eligible voters.

PARSIPPANY — The Parsippany-Troy Hills Main Public Library patrons, located at 449 Halsey Road, can now enjoy a warm cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. At the same time, they browse, study, or relax, thanks to the newly opened Coffee Nook, made possible through a generous donation from the Friends of the Library.

Located within the main library, the Coffee Nook offers a variety of hot beverages—including coffee, flavored lattes, tea, and hot chocolate—for just $2.00 per cup. The proceeds cover the cost of operation.

The project, nearly a year in the making, was the vision of Library Director Melissa Kuzma, who drew inspiration from similar amenities at other libraries. “Whether you’re looking for a pick-me-up during a long study session or craving a hot drink while enjoying one of our amazing programs, the Coffee Nook has you covered,” said Kuzma. “I am especially grateful to the Friends of the Library, whose generous donation made this project possible.”

For years, Parsippany residents have taken to social media expressing the desire for a “coffee place” where they could unwind—either with friends or alone. The Coffee Nook now fills that gap within the community’s central hub.

Friends of the Library members were quick to share their excitement. “It is a wonderful asset to the Library,” said Theresa Troiano. “What’s better than coffee and a book?”

Brenda Jackson, another active member, added, “I love the library Reading Parties, and it would be great to enjoy a cup of coffee with my novel.”

Even self-professed coffee connoisseurs were impressed. Membership Coordinator Praveena Grover said, “I am very picky about my coffee, but this was the best latte I have ever had from a machine.” New member Carol Meyer echoed her enthusiasm: “I was excited to have the first cup of coffee after the ribbon cutting. Lavazza Coffee is one of my favorite brands.”

Nicholas Jackson, Head of Information Services, summarized the staff’s sentiments, stating, “It is wonderful to be able to offer coffee and tea to our many customers who spend so much time studying and working in the Library.”

The Coffee Nook is open during regular library hours. Whether you are deep in research or simply savoring a good book, this cozy corner offers just the right blend of comfort and community.

I’ve read recently on Facebook these stories regarding the Parsippany Mayoral election. since these folks like to refer to councilman Justin as Fredo, do they also support mayor Barberio as the GODFATHER of Parsippany? A “B” actor in mob movies supporting a failed mayor is not really vey impressive.

Actually, quite embarrassing for both parties.

This is a political election to lead our community, not a “B” MOVIE!

PARSIPPANY — The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms invites the public to roll up their sleeves and dive into creativity during its upcoming “Maker Day” on Saturday, May 10, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will occur at the historic early 20th-century home of Gustav Stickley, a central figure in the American Arts and Crafts movement.

This special afternoon will feature hands-on workshops led by three local professional artists, allowing participants to explore various crafts and creative techniques. With the purchase of a ticket, attendees will enjoy:
