PARSIPPANY โ Mayor Pulkit Desai presented a proclamation on Tuesday, October 20, recognizing JBWS for its commitment to supporting survivors and preventing domestic violence, in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, an opportunity to support survivors, honor those whose lives have been lost and strengthen a shared commitment to preventing domestic violence. The proclamation notes that domestic violence affects individuals and families across all backgrounds, and that addressing it requires accessible services, public education and a community committed to safety and respect.
JBWS is a nonprofit organization serving Morris County that supports individuals and families affected by domestic violence through services that promote safety, healing and independence. Through its emergency shelter, counseling, advocacy, transitional living services and prevention education, JBWS provides vital support to survivors and their children while helping build a community where abuse is neither tolerated nor ignored.

The proclamation also credits JBWS staff, volunteers and community partners for the compassion and dedication they show in helping survivors navigate difficult circumstances and rebuild their lives with dignity.
“Mayor Pulkit Desai and the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills recognize the importance of JBWS’s work and the lasting impact of its efforts on families throughout our community and Morris County,” the proclamation states.
In the proclamation, Mayor Desai encourages residents to join in raising awareness, supporting those affected and promoting safe and healthy relationships during Domestic Violence Awareness Month and throughout the year.
