PARSIPPANY — La Pino’z Pizza, one of India’s largest pizza chains, is coming to Parsippany. The restaurant is moving into the former Vitale’s Delicatessen space at 1541 Route 46, where the chain’s signature green sign, featuring the slogan “The Giant Pizza Slices,” is already up.

The Parsippany restaurant will be the first La Pino’z location in Morris County. An opening date has not yet been released.

From Chandigarh to New Jersey

La Pino’z Pizza was founded in 2011 by Sanam Kapoor, a former software engineer at HCL who wanted to start a business of his own. With money his father provided from the sale of a house, Kapoor opened the first La Pino’z in Sector 9 of Chandigarh, India. Despite early equipment and power problems, the restaurant quickly grew popular through word of mouth.

The company began franchising in 2013 after a customer asked whether franchises were available. Billing itself as “India’s fastest growing pizza company,” La Pino’z now has about 700 locations worldwide. The brand began expanding internationally in 2022 and operates in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

La Pino’z arrived in the United States in New Jersey, with its first American location planned for the former Monteleone’s Bakery space at 741 Newark Avenue in Jersey City. The chain has since added a location at 1174 Green Street in Iselin, serving Iselin and Edison, as well as a restaurant in Linden.

On the Menu

La Pino’z is known for its giant pizza slices and its blend of traditional pizza with Indian flavors. Menu favorites include the paneer tikka butter masala pizza and the fiery “Burn To Hell” pizza, along with a wide selection of vegetarian pies such as the sweet corn delight. The menu also features pasta, including a vegetarian lasagna with mushrooms and olives, Mexican-fusion dishes and, at some locations, Korean chicken wings.
