PARSIPPANY โ€” Broadway Chicken, the Nashville-inspired fried chicken restaurant born on the Jersey Shore, is coming to the Morris Hills Shopping Center on Route 46 in Parsippany. The restaurant will be the brand’s first location in Morris County.

Broadway Chicken will occupy a 2,266-square-foot space in the shopping center, joining tenants including Paris Baguette, Bubbakoo’s Burritos, Palermo’s Pizza, Desi Cravings, The Great Wazu and Bank of America. An opening date has not yet been released.

From the Jersey Shore to Morris County

Broadway Chicken, originally known as Broadway Hot & Honey Chicken, was founded by Manasquan natives Michael Kelleher and Michael Falato. Kelleher, who serves as founder and Chief Executive Officer, spent years testing recipes with the goal of creating a fun atmosphere built around fresh, all-natural food.

The first restaurant opened nearly three years ago at Wall Central Plaza on Route 35 in Wall Township. Strong demand quickly led the founders to launch a franchise program, and new locations followed in Freehold, Middletown and Westfield. The company later moved its headquarters to the RiverWalk Center at Fort Monmouth in Oceanport, which also has a storefront, and opened a restaurant at Mercer on One in Lawrenceville this spring. The brand is also expanding beyond New Jersey, with its first South Florida restaurant planned for Jupiter, Florida.

On the Menu

The menu features fried chicken sandwiches, tenders, nuggets, wings, wraps, biscuits, waffle fries and other sides, salads and milkshakes, along with desserts such as banana pudding and Oreo pudding. Sauces, including honey-infused varieties, are made from scratch in five heat levels, from original to Nashville hot. The Nashville Caesar Wrap is a customer favorite.

You’ll choose from sandwiches, nuggets, tenders, wraps, buttermilk fried chicken, salads, waffle fries, sides (the Brussel Sprouts with hot honey and parm are popular), and sweets.

According to the company, its chicken is halal certified, raised in the United States on small family farms and free of antibiotics and steroids. Every piece is fresh and never frozen, brined for 24 hours, hand-breaded and fried to order. The restaurants carry a Nashville theme, with country music and artwork inspired by the city.
