PARSIPPANY — The Woman’s Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills welcomed guest speaker Lance Johnson of embrella at its general meeting on Monday, October 26. Johnson shared information about his work supporting young people with foster care experience as they prepare for life after high school.

embrella has been selected as the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs’ (NJSFWC) Special State Project for 2026–2028. Every two years, the Federation selects a charitable organization as a special focus for volunteer activities by clubs throughout the state. As a member of the NJSFWC, the Woman’s Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills is proud to participate in supporting embrella and its mission.

A New Jersey foster care nonprofit, embrella embraces, supports and advocates for children, youth and families within the child welfare community. The organization provides services, support and training opportunities for foster, adoptive and kinship families and others concerned with the well-being of children. It also helps young people pursue their educational goals through scholarship programs and one-on-one coaching.

Johnson serves as a coach with the Pathways to Academic and Career Exploration to Success (PACES) program in Hunterdon, Middlesex and Somerset counties. PACES helps eligible youth and young adults ages 16 to 21 explore educational and career opportunities and develop skills for their future.

During his presentation, Johnson shared how PACES coaches help young people make decisions about college, career training and employment. Support can include assistance with college and job applications, exploring scholarships and financial aid, and connecting with resources in their communities.

The Woman’s Club thanked Johnson for sharing information about embrella and the PACES program, and for the work he does to help young people pursue their goals.
