PARSIPPANY — Terence M. Whalen, 59, the longtime Tax Collector for the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills, was found deceased at Town Hall on Wednesday, September 23.
No information regarding the cause of death was available.
Whalen, a Certified Tax Collector, had served as the township’s Tax Collector for more than 18 years. He oversaw the Division of Collections, which prepares and mails property tax bills, collects current and delinquent taxes, conducts the township’s annual tax sale and handles water and sewer billing and collections.
Known to many as Terry, Whalen was a graduate of William Paterson University.
