PARSIPPANY — Parsippany High School football suffered its second consecutive loss Friday night, falling to Whippany Park, 34-0, on September 18.
The Redhawks entered the matchup looking to respond after a 27-0 loss to crosstown rival Parsippany Hills the previous week, but the offense was unable to get on the scoreboard for the second straight game. Whippany Park earned its first victory of the season with the win, improving to 1-2.
The loss drops Parsippany to 2-2 after an encouraging start to the season. The Redhawks opened the year with a 21-0 victory over Sussex County Tech before defeating North Warren Regional, 12-6, to begin the season 2-0.
Since then, Parsippany has faced a difficult two-game stretch. The Redhawks have been shut out by Parsippany Hills and Whippany Park while allowing a combined 61 points.
For Parsippany, the focus now shifts toward getting the offense back on track and rediscovering the form that helped the team win its first two games. After starting the year with momentum, the Redhawks will have an opportunity to respond on the road next week.
Parsippany is scheduled to face Palisades Park/Leonia on Friday, September 25, at 6:00 p.m.
