PARSIPPANY — The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council will consider a range of items at its agenda meeting Tuesday, October 6, including seven competition pickleball courts, several water system projects, the appointment of a temporary municipal court judge and a proposed amendment to the township’s cannabis ordinance. The meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. at Parsippany Town Hall, 1001 Parsippany Boulevard, Parsippany.

Ordinances on Second Reading
The council will hold a second reading and public hearing on seven ordinances. They include amendments to the township code covering dog licensing, fire prevention and construction code fees, including plumbing and electrical subcode fees, as well as changes to the Township Council’s rules of procedure.
The council will also hold a public hearing on an ordinance appropriating $2,000,000 from the township’s per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) litigation fund for water tank improvements.
Cannabis Ordinance
On first reading, the council will introduce an ordinance amending Chapter 119, Cannabis, of the township code.
Appointments
The council will vote on appointing Maryann McCoy as Temporary Municipal Court Judge and consenting to the appointment of Deborah Radler as Temporary Certified Tax Collector.
Pickleball and Water Projects
Among the non-consent resolutions is authorizing the installation of seven competition pickleball courts at the park on Parsippany Boulevard.
The council will also consider awarding a contract to VNL, Inc. for treatment at replacement Well 20R and a contract to Sentinel Water Solutions, LLC for the removal and replacement of ion exchange resin media. On the consent agenda is the purchase and installation of two Peerless vertical turbine pumps and two 150-horsepower motor assemblies.
Roads, Buildings and Technology
Other non-consent resolutions include a contract with Crossroads Paving for the Vail Road improvements project, which was re-bid; roof repairs at 3 Pumphouse Road and 1071 Parsippany Boulevard; a one-year subscription to Darktrace software; and participation in the Houston-Galveston Area Council national purchasing cooperative.
Equipment and Other Consent Items
Consent agenda items include the purchase of a Palfinger hooklift and Galion dump body, two Ford F350 pickup trucks and one Ford F550 truck, and an Exmark diesel mower. The council will also consider approving the surrender of a liquor license, a memorandum of agreement with the International Association of Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics Local R2-973, and the cancellation and refund of property taxes for a 100 percent permanently disabled veteran.
Other Business
Mayor Pulkit Desai will present a proclamation honoring Hindu Heritage Month.
The council will also authorize payment of bills estimated at $4,659,633.01, along with regular and miscellaneous payrolls estimated at $1,650,000.00 each.
The council’s next regular meeting is set for Tuesday, October 20, followed by an agenda meeting on Tuesday, November 10. Both begin at 7:00 p.m.
