PARSIPPANY — Paris Baguette, the fast-growing bakery café chain known for its fresh pastries, breads, handcrafted cakes and coffee, is coming to Parsippany. The new café will open in the Morris Hills Shopping Center on Route 46.

An opening date has not yet been set.

Paris Baguette joins a growing list of new arrivals at the center, which is undergoing a major renovation. Trader Joe’s is also expected to open at Morris Hills, which would make it the township’s fifth major grocery store. The popular grocer currently operates nearby Morris County stores in Morristown, Denville and Florham Park.

“The renovation of the Morris Hills Shopping Center is exactly the kind of investment Parsippany needs,” said Frank Cahill, Chairman of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Economic Development Advisory Committee. “Bringing in names like Trader Joe’s and Paris Baguette gives residents more reasons to shop close to home, creates local jobs, and breathes new life into one of the most heavily traveled corridors in town. This is a win for Parsippany’s businesses and families alike.”

Founded in Seoul, South Korea, Paris Baguette has grown into a global brand with more than 4,000 locations worldwide. Its North American headquarters is in Moonachie, and the company is pursuing an aggressive national expansion with a goal of reaching 1,000 cafés in the United States by the end of the decade.

Every Paris Baguette location bakes its products fresh in-store each day. Most cafés follow a self-serve format: guests pick up a tray and tongs and choose from a display of more than 70 breads and pastries. A separate counter offers whole cakes, cake slices and beverages, including Lavazza espresso and cold brew. The menu also features salads, wraps and sandwiches served on baguettes, brioche buns or croissants, along with seasonal specials.

The chain already has a local connection. Paris Baguette partners with Parsippany-based Ferrero North America, maker of Nutella, which is featured in several of its menu items.

The Parsippany café will join a growing number of Paris Baguette locations in Morris County, including cafés in Morristown and Rockaway. Another location operates nearby in Livingston.

Parsippany Focus will share the opening dates and grand opening details for both Paris Baguette and Trader Joe’s as they become available.
