PARSIPPANY โ A fire alarm interrupted the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Councilโs monthly meeting Tuesday evening, forcing officials and attendees to evacuate Town Hall.
The alarm sounded at approximately 8:05 p.m. on August 18 while the council meeting was underway. Everyone inside the building was evacuated as a precaution.
Prior to the interruption, the council meeting had been moving along smoothly, with township officials conducting regular municipal business and discussing matters before the governing body. The meeting provided residents with an opportunity to hear updates and follow the councilโs work before the unexpected alarm brought proceedings to a temporary halt.
Firefighters arrived at Town Hall at approximately 8:17 p.m. and began investigating the cause of the alarm. Emergency vehicles could be seen outside the building as crews responded.

At this time, it has not been confirmed whether an actual fire occurred or what may have triggered the alarm. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
