PARSIPPANY โ€” One of North Jersey’s most celebrated Middle Eastern kitchens is headed to Route 10. Basha, the Parsippany outpost of Paterson’s Al-Basha, has put up its signs at District 15Fifteen, with a window message promising residents, “Parsippany, we’re grilling here soon!”

The new restaurant will operate under the shortened Basha name, but the family behind it has been serving Palestinian cuisine since 1998. Founder Yaser Baker, who began cooking in Ramallah, built Al-Basha’s reputation on home-style dishes from the kitchens he grew up in.

The flagship dining room at 387 Crooks Avenue in Paterson remains the anchor of the business, which has since grown to include a takeout location on Main Street in Paterson and a restaurant in the Bronx. USA Today named Al-Basha one of the best restaurants in the country, drawing diners from across the region to Paterson.

The menu centers on the grill. Al-Basha is known for its fresh hummus, falafel, pita and kabobs, and the Parsippany window wrap features a platter of grilled meats, peppers and onions beside the line “Middle Eastern Done Right since 1998.” The family-style menu lends itself to both a quick weekday lunch and a shared dinner with plates passed around the table.

An opening date has not yet been set. Updates are expected on the restaurant’s Instagram and TikTok accounts at @eatbasha. Parsippany Focus will report when the doors open.

Basha joins a fast-growing restaurant lineup at District 15Fifteen, which transformed the former Dialogic and Intel office campus into a walkable town center with 498 apartments and nearly 60,000 square feet of retail and dining space. Burtons Grill and Bar recently opened its first New Jersey location there, and the tenant roster also includes Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, Meximodo, Haraz Coffee House, O’Bagel, Pure Green, Home Town Creamery and Dhaba Indian Restaurant.

Once open, Basha will sit within walking distance of the development’s apartments, fitness studios and coffee shops.
