PARSIPPANY — Julianna Mauriello of Parsippany has enrolled at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, as a member of the Class of 2030.
Mauriello graduated from Parsippany High School with the Class of 2025. During high school, she was an active student-athlete for the Parsippany Red Hawks and played on the varsity girls’ lacrosse team.
Her interest in athletics began before high school. Mauriello also participated in local youth running events, including the Parsippany Express Cross Country races.
At James Madison University, Mauriello plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology, a field that closely complements her athletic background. Kinesiology examines human movement from physiological, biomechanical, developmental and psychological perspectives.
James Madison University offers kinesiology concentrations in exercise science and physical and health education teacher education. The program can prepare students for careers in strength and conditioning, personal training, corporate wellness, cardiac rehabilitation and physical education. Graduates may also pursue advanced education in physical therapy, occupational therapy, medicine and other health-related fields.
Mauriello joins an incoming class whose members come from 40 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and 20 countries and territories outside the United States.
Founded in 1908, James Madison University is a public university in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. The university offers more than 130 programs of study, along with opportunities for academic research, community service, campus involvement and NCAA Division I athletics.
Mauriello’s enrollment at James Madison University marks an important milestone following her years at Parsippany High School and begins a new chapter that combines her academic interests with her longstanding involvement in athletics.
