PARSIPPANY — Dr. Trivikrama Reddy, a Parsippany resident, Senior Staff Engineer at Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD), and Adjunct Professor at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), has been selected as an inaugural recipient of the BD Community Excellence Award, a global honor recognizing employees who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to improving communities through volunteerism, education, healthcare access, and sustainable development.
The award celebrates BD associates who make a meaningful impact beyond their professional responsibilities by improving the lives of people in the communities where they live and work. According to BD, this year’s recipients collectively strengthened healthcare access, expanded STEM education opportunities, supported vulnerable populations, and improved quality of life for people around the world. The award includes a $10,000 charitable grant awarded to a nonprofit organization selected by each recipient.
Dr. Reddy was recognized for more than fifteen years of dedicated volunteer service supporting blood drives, health initiatives, STEM education programs, and community development projects. His most notable contribution was leading efforts to provide a sustainable and safe drinking-water solution to the tribal village of Rangasai in India, helping improve public health and reduce dependence on unsafe water sources.
“Community service has always been an important part of my life,” said Dr. Reddy. “I strongly believe that education, healthcare access, and clean water are fundamental necessities that can transform lives and create opportunities for future generations. I am honored to receive this recognition and grateful to everyone who supported these initiatives.”
Dr. Reddy’s commitment to serving others extends across both his professional and academic careers. With more than 20 years of experience in medical device innovation and product development, he has contributed to technologies that improve patient outcomes worldwide. He currently serves as a Senior Staff Engineer at BD and is also an Adjunct Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at NJIT, where he has taught and mentored engineering students for the past eight years.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Reddy has actively promoted STEM education and community engagement through mentoring students, supporting educational programs, and encouraging young people to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
