PARSIPPANY โ€” The Township Council voted 4-0 to approve a resolution inserting $13,461.06 into the 2026 municipal budget for the Bulletproof Vest Program, a state grant that helps fund body armor for police officers.

Council President Judy Hernandez was absent from the vote.

Resolution R2026-207 authorizes the insertion of the grant as both a special item of revenue and a matching appropriation, as permitted under New Jersey law when a municipality receives funding after its budget has already been adopted. Township Treasurer certification confirmed that Parsippany-Troy Hills has received or is set to receive the funds, which will now be reflected in the 2026 budget.

A certified copy of the resolution will be forwarded to the state Division of Local Government Services, as required.
