Maryann O’Donnell McCoy Appointed Temporary Municipal Court Judge

PARSIPPANY — The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council voted on Tuesday, October 6, to appoint Maryann O’Donnell McCoy as Temporary Municipal Court Judge.

McCoy is the managing attorney of O’Donnell McCoy Buerle, LLC, and a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

She has extensive litigation experience in cases involving personal injury, property damage, premises liability, Title 59, employment practice, directors and officers’ liability, coverage, personal injury protection, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, municipal work, wills and estates, and commercial and residential real estate transactions. She also has extensive trial experience, especially in insurance defense matters, where she has secured favorable verdicts on behalf of the firm’s clients.

McCoy is the former Municipal Prosecutor of the Joint Court of Madison for Madison Borough, Chatham Borough and Harding Township, and of the Shared Services Court of Washington Township in Morris County and Mendham Borough and Califon Borough in Hunterdon County.

She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.

McCoy is a member of the Morris County Bar Association Civil Practice Committee and the New Jersey Defense Association, approved insurance counsel for New Jersey Manufacturers and an arbitrator for the Superior Court of New Jersey. She served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Expedited Civil Actions, has been a panelist for the New Jersey Association for Justice on the trial of verbal threshold cases and has served as a judge for the Morris County Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and her law degree from New York Law School.
