PARSIPPANY — Members of Parsippany-Troy Hills Fire District 5 and Fire District 6 turned out to support Thursday night’s Parsippany High School versus Parsippany Hills High School football game, drawing thanks from the Parsippany High School Redhawks Football program.
The crosstown matchup, played on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, featured a large American flag displayed by firefighters in honor of those who died that day and those who continue to be affected by it, according to a Facebook post from Parsippany High School Redhawks Football.
The football program’s post thanked the fire departments and their members for showing up, saying the community is fortunate to have first responders who “protect our community” while also supporting local kids, schools and the town.
The Redhawks Football program said the tribute made an already special night even more meaningful for everyone in attendance.
