PARSIPPANY โ A Parsippany man’s Jeep overturned after he failed to stop at the stop sign at North Beverwyck Road and Knoll Road and drove onto a residential property on Saturday, October 17, according to a Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department crash report.
Erlich D. Alpas, 52, of Lincoln Gardens, was driving a black 2017 Jeep Wrangler north on North Beverwyck Road at about 10:10 a.m. when, as he approached the stop sign, he began to merge onto Knoll Road at a high rate of speed and drove onto the property of 1160 Knoll Road, police said.
Alpas told police that he felt dizzy before the collision and did not realize what had happened until afterward.
A witness traveling west on Knoll Road told police the Jeep continued into the intersection at a high rate of speed and drove onto the property. The Jeep sustained disabling damage and overturned, and was towed from the scene.
The property owner reported damage to approximately 15 concrete driveway pavers. No injuries were reported.
Police determined the Jeep’s driver was at fault for failing to stop at the stop sign. No summonses were listed in the report.
Patrolman Patrick Calabrese investigated the crash. The report was reviewed by James Seeger.
