PARSIPPANY โ Parsippany Focus is celebrating a milestone birthday today. Thirty-seven years ago, on October 1, 1989, Parsippany Focus published for the first time, with a simple mission: to tell the stories of Parsippany-Troy Hills and the people who make it home.
The celebration is a double one. Exactly 30 years later, on October 1, 2019, Parsippany Focus magazine debuted in print, bringing feature stories, community profiles and local businesses to mailboxes throughout the township. The magazine marks its seventh birthday today.
Nearly Four Decades of Community Coverage
Since its founding, Parsippany Focus has covered the moments, big and small, that shape life in Parsippany. Township Council meetings, Board of Education decisions, police and fire news, high school sports, business openings, school achievements, milestone birthdays, community festivals and the work of local service clubs, houses of worship and nonprofit organizations have all found a home in its pages.
Over the years, the publication has grown with the community it serves. What began in print has expanded to parsippanyfocus.com, social media and a sister publication, Morris Focus, which covers communities throughout Morris County. Through every change in how readers get their news, the focus has remained the same: local news, written for local readers.

Parsippany Focus Magazine Turns Seven
When Parsippany Focus magazine launched on October 1, 2019, it gave readers a new way to connect with their hometown. Each issue highlights the people, places and organizations that make Parsippany special, from neighbors doing extraordinary things to the small businesses that keep the local economy strong. Months after its launch, the magazine continued publishing through the COVID-19 pandemic, keeping residents informed and connected when the community needed it most.
Thank You, Parsippany
None of this would be possible without the readers, advertisers, contributors, interns and community partners who have supported Parsippany Focus for 37 years. Local advertisers make free, independent hometown journalism possible, and readers who share news tips, photographs, letters to the editor and story ideas keep the publication connected to what matters most in the township.
As Parsippany Focus begins its 38th year and the magazine begins its eighth, the commitment remains unchanged: to cover Parsippany with accuracy, fairness and pride.
