RANDOLPHย โ ย Sabra Aschenbrenner, 46, aย mother of threeย whose family received an outpouring of financial support when theirย Randolph Township home burned down in Mayย admitted to stealing $75,000 over a three-year period while employed at a Randolph dentist office.
Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announcedย Aschenbrenner pled guilty before the Honorable Stephen J. Taylor, J.S.C. to one count of thirdย degree Theft by Unlawful Taking in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:20-3a.
The Morris County Prosecutorโs Office received a referral of this matter from the Randolph Township Police Department which handled the initial investigation. Pursuant to an investigation by the Morris County Prosecutorโs Office Financial Crimes Unit, Aschenbrenner was charged by accusation with having unlawfully taken and exercised control over financial bank accounts and credit cards belonging to her employer. The offense charged took place between February, 2010 and January of 2013.
As part of the plea agreement, Aschenbrenner has agreed to pay restitution of $75,000 and will face five years of probation.
