RANDOLPH — Visual Arts students from the County College of Morris will showcase their artwork through mid-April at the Art Upstairs Gallery at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown and the Morris Museum in Morris Township.
The second annual “CCM at the Mayo: County College of Morris Student Exhibit’’ runs now through April 19 at the Art Upstairs Gallery at MPAC.
The exhibition, curated by Professor Todd L. W. Doney of the Visual Arts Department at CCM, will feature approximately 45 pieces of student artwork.
“The ‘CCM at the Mayo’ exhibit provides students a platform to display and sell their artwork and offers them real-world experience in the gallery business,” said Doney.
A reception in honor of the student artists will be held on Wednesday, April 1, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Upstairs Gallery, located at 100 South Street, Morristown.
Just a few miles away, the Morris Museum will host the “CCM Spring 2015 Portfolio Class Exhibition’’ from March 23 through April 16. The exhibit will display the culmination of the students’ artwork from their two years at CCM.
The portfolio and presentation class at CCM is a capstone course to help Visual Arts students prepare portfolios and resumes for career opportunities or for admittance to four-year colleges and universities. The class final involves a showing at the Morris Museum and judgment by a jury of professional artists.
The Morris Museum is located at 6 Normandy Heights Road, at the junction with Columbia Turnpike.
