“The Friends of Lake Hiawatha” is a non-profit organization established in 2011 for the benefit of enhancing the appearance of North Beverwyck Road. and hosting events that brings the community together.

With the generous donations from the merchants along North Beverwyck Road, the organization was able to purchase the snowflakes and wreaths for the holiday season.

Flower planters were added along the boulevard that add vibrant colors through the spring, summer and fall. The organization also sponsors a scarecrow contest, through the participation of local Girl Scouts and our annual ‘Winterfest” in December.

The annual “Winterfest” is held the second Friday evening in December at the Lake Hiawatha town gazebo.

Santa Claus arrives on a fire truck with help of Lake Hiawatha District 4 Fire Department. Children from the community get to visit with Santa. Hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes are distributed while families enjoy the caroling of participating Girl Scout troops.

This is made possible through the generous donations of the merchants and through the participation of Parsippany Parks and Recreation, Lake Hiawatha Dist. 4 Fire Department and Parsippany Police Department.
