PARSIPPANY — A tremendous sense of excitement has been created by the Parsippany Hills High School Vikings Football Team when they claimed their first ever state championship by defeating Cranford 20-13 in the title game at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, December 7. They are now the 2014 NJSIAA North 2, Group III Champions!
In a statement issued by Mayor Barberio, “The hearts of township residents are bursting with pride. We admire these young champions who have represented Parsippany with such determination and dignity. They have carried themselves with pride and respect and exemplify our highest traditions of good sportsmanship.” Council President Paul Carifi, Jr., said “I congratulate the Vikings football team for winning the state championship, as well as the Marching Band for all their hard work.”
In order to honor these young men and give our residents the opportunity to show their support, a motorcade was organized to take place on Sunday, December 14 starting at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
The motorcade will originate from Jannarone Park located on Walsh Drive.
It will proceed down Interpace Parkway and head south on Cherry Hill Road to Route 202 South. It will turn right onto Sedgefield Drive, left onto Ferncliff, right onto Highland, right onto Moraine Road, left on Tarn Drive and right onto Route 53. The motorcade will continue to turn right onto Brooklawn Drive, left onto Glen Cove Road and into the Par Hills parking lot.
