UPDATE: Car hit utility pole, downed wires on Lake Shore Drive in Lake Hiawatha

Tree on Fire

PARSIPPANY —  As previously reported, at about 8:15 p.m., a car hit a utility pole on Lake Shore Drive near Lincoln Avenue in Lake Hiawatha causing multiple electrical wires to fall and start a minor fire in a tree.  All homes in the immediate area lost power for a brief time.

Witnesses report that after striking the utility pole, the driver of the vehicle veered off the road and stuck two parked cars in a driveway.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Parsippany Police Department.  Lake Hiawatha Volunteer Fire District 4, JCP&L, and Parks and Forestry all responded to the scene.
