Parsippany’s American Legion Posts 249 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10184 will hold their annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11 (eleventh month, eleventh day,
eleventh hour) at Veterans Memorial Park, Parsippany. Bob Briant, Commander of Post 249, will lead the ceremony.
Guests include: Mayor James R. Barberio; Monsignor Tillyer, St. Peter the Apostle Church; Rabbi Shalom Lubin, Congregation Shaya Ahavat Torah; and Reverend Jeff Edwards, United Methodist Church of Parsippany.
As customary, wreaths will be laid at the Veterans Monument and Color Guards from American Legion Post 249 and V.F.W. Post 10184 will participate. “You’re A Grand Old Flag” will be sung by third graders
of Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills Public Schools and “God Bless the USA” by third graders of All Saints Academy. “The Star-Spangled Banner” & “America the Beautiful” will be sung by Mrs. Michelle Musolino-Roberts. Eileen White of the Daughters of the American Revolution will explain the meaning
of Veterans Day.
A cannon salute will be presented by Lamb’s Artillery, a Revolutionary War re-enactment group. New
this year – the program will offer a special performance by the Pridettes who will entertain with World
War II favorites like “Apple Blossom Time” and “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree.”
