New Aquatics Director appointed at the Y

Carrie-D-photoKatie McKoy, Acting CEO at the Lakeland Hills Family YMCA, announces the appointment of Carrie Dickey, a former Mountain Lakes swimmer, as the new Aquatics Director. She will oversee all scheduling, classes, and special events in the pool including kids and adult swim lessons, adult fitness programs, parent/child classes and the renowned youth progressive swim lesson program. Carrie has spent a good part of her life in or at the pool.

What began as a summer swim program in Mountain Lakes turned into a year round pursuit for Carrie by age 8. She swam throughout high school while also competing for the LHY Swim Team.

After graduating in 1998, she swam throughout her college years at the University of New Hampshire. Married with two young children, Carrie has spent the last ten years as a part-time swim coach for the LHY team, but always knew she wanted to be “full-time” at the Y when her kids got a little older, “It’s such a great community place, safe and fun for kids.

I can’t think of a better place to work and do what I already know and love,” she says. McKoy concurs, “I think Carrie will bring a new, fresh face to LHY swimming and I, along with the rest of the staff, look forward to working with her.”
