Woman’s Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills Celebrates Dr. Seuss’ Birthday

Dr.-Seuss-LibraryMembers of the Woman’s Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills celebrated Dr. Seuss’ 110th birthday by reading to the children at the Parsippany Child Day Care Center on March 3rd. The club donated two Dr. Seuss books to the center library and threw a party complete with balloons, snacks and Dr. Seuss poster. The club also donated three Dr. Seuss books to the Parsippany Public library (one for each branch) for the enjoyment of all Parsippany children.

Other activities of the club’s Education Committee are Project Graduation Sponsorship, 5th Grade Reading Awards at all 10 elementary schools, Citizenship Award to a male and female 8th grader at Brooklawn, Central and All Saints Academy, GCI Delegate Sponsorship at each High School, and High School Scholarships open to both male and female students. Scholarships are available now and high school students at Parsippany High and Parsippany Hills High Schools are encouraged to contact their guidance department to apply.

The club’s next general meetings are Monday, March 24 and Monday, April 28. Meetings start 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Parsippany Rescue & Recovery Building, 100 Centerton Drive.
