The Parsippany Child Day Care Center is in the process of replacing our playground facilities. The current playground dates back to 1994. Due to new regulations, they are under an unfunded mandate to update all of the playground equipment in 2014. The first stage, the infant and toddler play area, is complete. They have also removed all non- compliant playground equipment from their main playground. At the moment, they have no playground equipment in their pre-school playground. Providing outdoor activity is a key part of providing a healthy lifestyle for the students.
They are currently soliciting contributions from individuals, families, businesses, and/or organizations to help us provide state of the art playground facilities in the spring of this year. Our fundraising target is $50,000. All sponsors shall be named on a commemorative plaque posted in the Parsippany Child Care Center. Click here to download a donation form.
The Parsippany Child Day Care Center was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization on August 6, 1968. The Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills helped found it, and has supported it since inception. Our building was constructed with a HUD grant on Township property in 1980, and expanded in 1994.
The Parsippany Child Day Care Center is one of the few centers in the area that accepts students under the Community Based Care (CBC) program, which allows economically challenged individuals with employment to pay a fraction of the cost of day care on a sliding scale based on income. The Parsippany Child Day Care Center is also one of the few centers in the area that accepts children from the Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS). Approximately 65% of our student population receives tuition assistance from the State of NJ or scholarship programs. Many of our families do not pay any tuition. The portion of tuition that we receive from state or scholarship assistance does not cover the full cost of care for the children, let alone the cost of capital improvements. We offer discounted tuition to Township employees, Board of Education employees, and employees of our corporate partners.
