Cookies & Crèches is back for its sixth big year of holiday celebration at St. Gregorys Episcopal Church. This year the event will be held on Saturday, December 7 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
In what has become an annual tradition in our area, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a critically acclaimed collection of over 200 nativity scenes from around the world, while also purchasing baked goods from a huge assortment of holiday cookies Admission is free. Cookies will be available for purchase at the price of $9.00 per pound. Nut free and sugar free offerings will also be available.
The crèche collection belongs to the Rev. Susan Sica, Vicar of St. Gregorys Church and has been featured on NJN television and in numerous publications. Rev. Sica has been collecting nativity sets since she was a teenager. This year the collection has been enhanced by some remarkable new additions, including a tiny miniature one set in a eucalyptus cap and one that doubles as a set of silver bells.
Christmas cookie walks are growing in popularity every year and provide visitors with an enjoyable and affordable way to get a head start on their holiday baking needs. Children will enjoy participating in a nativity scavenger hunt designed to help them appreciate the different cultures and materials that have been used to make them.
St. Gregorys is located at 480 South Beverwyck Road. Hours for Cookies and Crèches will be from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., or until the cookies sell out if that happens first!
