Morris-County-Traction-CompanyFrom 1904 to 1928, the Morris County Traction Company was the only trolley system in Morris County.

Starting in Dover, it ran all the way to Newark via Morristown, Morris Plains and Summit, with service to Bertrand Island Amusement Park, Ledgewood and Succasunna.

Some wide streets, such as Broadway in Denville and Broad Street in Summit, were built to accommodate the trolley line.

On Thursday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m., Bill Greenberg will present an illustrated talk about the Morris County Traction Company at the Bethel on Trinity Park in Mount Tabor, just up the path from the Post Office at 26 Simpson Avenue.

The program is hosted by the Mount Tabor Historical Society. For directions go to www.mounttabornj.org or call (973) 586-1564.
