Drug arrest at Volunteers Park


heroineWhile on patrol in Volunteers Park at 6:31 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, Officers Ross Cooper and John Freudenberg observed four males standing near a vehicle parked in the lot of the Park.

Three of the males were leaning into the passenger side of the vehicle and reaching into the center console.

As the officers approached the males, the individuals began walking away from the vehicle.

After speaking with them, Mr. Randy Fleming, 19, Boonton was placed under arrest by the officers for Possession of Heroin.

Mr. Bryan Tauro, 19, Lake Hiawatha was also arrested and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (a dollar bill rolled with a rubber band containing white powdery residue). Tauro attended Parsippany High School.

Both individuals were transported to Parsippany Police Headquarters where they were processed before being released pending appearances in court.

22 folds of Heroin with the labels “Blue Magic” and “POISON” were placed into evidence.

Parsippany Police also arrested Mr. Tauro on December 12, 2012 after he was found closed in a storage area inside one of the laundry facilities in the Knoll Gardens Apartment. At that time, Mr.  Tauro was charged with Being Under the Influence of CDS and Burglary. He was being held at the Morris County Jail in lieu of $15,000.00 bail.
