Disaster Assistance is still available

Disaster assistance is still available for those affected by hurricanes Irene and Sandy.

If you live in Parsippany and your home was damaged during Irene or Sandy and you still have not been able to complete your repairs, you may be eligible for a grant or assistance through the Parsippany Long Term Recovery Committee or the Morris County Disaster Recovery Committee.

If you would like to apply, or for more information, please call (973) 885-9337 until June 30, Monday through Friday for 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. or Saturday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.

The Parsippany Long Term Recovery Committee is comprised of volunteers from various Parsippany faith communities as well as civic organizations such as Kiwanis Club of Greater Parsippany, Parsippany Rotary and the Parsippany Women’s Club, with additional involvement of local government. This group works in conjunction with the Morris County Disaster Recovery Committee, which is a voluntary association of entities that cooperate, coordinate, collaborate and communicate to provide spiritual, emotional, and physical resources to those affected by disasters at the county level.  Working in tandem, the local committee and the county committee work to address unmet needs of the community that overwhelm the traditional recovery system. A systemized case-management approach is used to help respond to needs not met by relief systems such as FEMA, Red Cross, Small Business Administration and other disaster recovery systems.
