John J. Bevacqua, 84, Passed Away

Korean War Veteran, Owner/Operator of an Electrical Contracting Firm, 4th Degree Knight, Parsippany Planning Board and PAL Football Coach

John J. Bevacqua passed away on Wednesday, June 19 at Mount Arlington Senior Living in Mount Arlington.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York.ย  He grew up in the Lake Hiawatha section of the Township of Parsippany where he lived for 29 years before moving to the Morris Plains section of the Township of Parsippany in 1963.

John proudly served his country in both the United States Marines from June 21, 1948ย  until being honorably discharged on June 20, 1950, and in the United States Army during the Korean War from January 26, 1951ย  until being honorably discharged on October 27, 1952.

He worked as an Electrician and was the co-owner of A&B Electric, also known as Able Electric, Parsippany, all of his life before retiring.ย  John was also issued an electrical inspector license for the State of New Jersey.

John was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 3680 in Parsippany, a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Barett Council No.1954 in Boonton, and he was a member of the Parsippany Planning Board.ย  He was also a Junior Varsity and Varsity football coach for the Parsippany PAL.

He was predeceased by his twin brother, Louis on May 16, 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Marge T. (nee-Orsini); his sons: Joseph and his wife, Patricia of Denville, William and his wife, Susan of Cheshire, CT, and James and his wife Darla of Tuckerton; and by his eight cherished grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Monday, June 24ย  at 9:00 a.m. from the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. (973) 887-3235 or visit www.partroyfuneralhome.com. With the Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher RC Church, 1050 Littleton Road, Parsippany.

Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. only.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the Parsippany PAL or the BCECA (Bergen County Electrical Contractors Association) Scholarship Fund, which gets awarded to an aspiring individual pursuring education in the electrical field.
