Rotary Club’s Annual Diaper Drive

Parsippany Day Care Center Director Peggy Rauscher with Rotary President Maury Mader

The Parsippany Rotary Club and the Interact Clubs of Parsippany Hills and Parsippany High Schools are holding their second Diaper Drive to benefit the children and adults of Morris County. With the help of a Rotary District Grant the club has been able to purchase the diapers which are donated to Child and Family Resources who will distribute them to needy families in Morris County. In addition this year we have had adult diapers donated which have been given to the Interfaith Food Pantry for distribution and to Camp Merry Heart, an Easter Seals camp located in Hackettstown for disabled children and adults.

This year the Rotary took some of the diapers and gave them to the Parsippany Child Day Care Center. The Center, located on Baldwin Road, has about ninety children enrolled from six weeks to pre-school.

The Rotary decided to collect diapers because the members found out that a normal infant uses up to twelve diapers per day at a monthly cost over $100.00 and food stamps to not cover diapers. A baby crying due to a soiled diaper is at an increased risk of infection and abuse.

The Rotary is accepting donations for the Diaper Drive of unopened packages of diapers or cash for the purchase of more diapers. Contact and Parsippany Rotarian or Interact Member. Please call (973) 538-6666, e-mail to or visit their web page
