The First Annual Parsippany Night Out will be held at the Holiday Inn of Parsippany, 707 Route 46 East from on Monday, February 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Join The Dean and Betty Gallo Prostate Cancer Center and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey for an evening of food and entertainment with a silent auction in order to raise awareness of prostate cancer and support services.
Parsippany Night Out is presented in partnership with the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce and the Parsippany Area Visitor Center. “Prostate Cancer affects an entire family and our community. Our Chamber is partnered with the Dean and Betty Gallo Prostate Cancer Center in order to provide education to the Greater Parsippany Area on this disease while encouraging early preventative screenings. We are very thankful for the positive support we received from the business community for this event,” stated Chamber President Robert J. Peluso.
The Dean and Betty Gallo Prostate Cancer Center at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey was formed by Dean Gallo, a former Parsippany councilman, Morris County Freeholder, State Assemblyman and Minority Leader as well as a five-term Congressman in our 11th district (which Parsippany resides in). He passed away in 1994 from Prostate Cancer and the Center honors his name as New Jersey’s only specialized prostate health resource at the National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
“1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in their lifetime. The key to surviving this deadly form of cancer is early screenings. To encourage early screenings, events such as Parsippany Night Out, extends an opportunity for us to educate the public and drive awareness. We are very excited to have the partnership of the Parsippany Area Chamber of Commerce and the Parsippany Area Visitor Center in this endeavor and look forward to a successful event,” stated Betty Gallo Director of Public Outreach & Government Relations for The Dean and Betty Gallo Prostate Cancer Center.
