PARSIPPANY — The Parsippany-based Bouchedid Foundation launched its first annual charity holiday auction on Veteran’s Day. Bouchedid Foundation is located at One Gatehall Road.
“We thought that Veteran’s Day was the perfect time to kick off this fundraiser, since several of the charities in our portfolio support veteran’s affairs,” says foundation chairman Dany Bouchedid.
The Bouchedid Foundation operates using a proprietary algorithm that lets them monitor more than a half million charities and non-profits globally to determine which ones best match the foundation’s mission.
“We look for organizations that advocate for the most oppressed and disenfranchised,” explains Bouchedid, “as well as the ones who use the highest percentage of donations they receive to directly help those in need.”
According to Bouchedid, the foundation evaluates and analyzes charities using accountability, efficiency, turnaround, focus, urgency and disenfranchisement as metrics to determine which organizations receive foundation funds. The foundation is in the process of creating a Donor’s Dashboard to allow contributors to track their donations and to see feedback from the charities.
According to the Bouchedid Foundation’s website, the group’s pure volunteer-based leadership and staff lets them maintain a negligible operational overhead to ensure that close to 100 percent of all contributions go directly to the chosen charities.
Visitors to the Holiday Auction can bid on items such as sports and music memorabilia, travel experiences, jewelry, fashion, collectibles and more.
Visitors to the site can also elect to give a cash donation, which Bouchedid has pledged personally to match up to a total of $5000.
Dany Bouchedid is the founder and CEO of Parsippany, NJ-based COLOTRAQ, a full-service sourcing and consulting firm that helps companies and institutions source data center colocation, managed hosting, cloud computing, network infrastructure and other related telecom services in 140 countries.
