Parsippany Police issues phone scam alert

PARSIPPANY — Please be advised that there is a phone scam from individuals claiming to be from the Township of Parsippany Water Utilities Division.

The individuals are advising victims that they have outstanding payments on their utilities and require immediate payment by credit card.

The Township of Parsippany will NOT contact our residents by phone for payment and DO NOT accept credit cards.

If you receive this call please do not provide any personal information or payment to the caller.

Hang up and report it to the Federal Trade Commission, by clicking here.

If you have provided payment or are a victim of identity theft, please report the incident to the Parsippany Police Department at (973) 263-4300.
